so... once AGAIN they (who are they?) decided to have a strike, which means no one works on Friday to apparently protest against the government and complain about lots of different things that have been going on under the new government. i usually am a little excited whenever there is a paro because it´s a little vacation time (specially when they are on Fridays) BUT not today... oh no... when i heard there was going to be paro i freaked out because we need to be in La Paz (17 hour bus ride from here) by Sunday to catch our plane to Costa Rica. and of course every paro is also accompanied by bloqueos of the roads anywhere where there is a group of people willing to just stand around in the middle of the road, make some noise and not let anyone go through.
so... anyway... as i was saying... i freaked out because our plan was to go to La Paz by bus, but, given the situation we could get on a bus right now and not get to La Paz until next week.
soooo.... after lots of freaking out and asking everyone their opinion on what we should do and considering lots of different options we decided to just take a plane to La Paz on Saturday morning and hope that the planes are actually flying normally and on time. the easiest but not the cheapest option. but it´s all good... we´re just really excited to be going to cr and counting the hours to get on that plane...
